Sherry Colomb - scolomb1@uw.edu

Sherry comes to the Alliance from a case management background with the Okanogan County Area Agency on Aging (AAA). She first became involved with child welfare in 2005 when Sherry and her husband Bill became licensed foster parents. They fostered for 12 years and have 2 adopted children. Sherry began working with the Alliance as a foster parent co-trainer before joining the Alliance in 2016 as the Child Welfare Trainer for the Wenatchee area and Okanogan County. Sherry’s desire is to help equip foster parents through education and information. She is especially passionate about supporting caregivers with the specific challenges that come with caregiving in rural areas.

Renee Siers - siersr@uw.edu

Reneé’s journey in Child Welfare began many years ago when she and her husband Tom became foster parents. Over the years she and her husband have adopted four children, which have given them many opportunities to work with the Child Welfare system. Reneé gained a passion for working with families while being a co-trainer for the Resource Family Training Institute. She went back to school and obtained a Master's in Social Work at Eastern Washington University. While working on her Master’s degree she studied attachment and the affects of trauma on children and adults.

Reneé has a desire to help Care Providers gain the tools they need to effectively parent the children who come into their homes. She believes a sense of humor can go a long way when dealing with difficult behaviors.
