Holly Bond - hollyb7@uw.edu

Holly Bond comes to the Alliance after 11 years of supporting Caregivers as a Licensor with a private agency in the Tacoma area.  Prior to that, Holly supervised both a group home and residential treatment facility for teen girls and non-binary youth who had experienced significant trauma and loss.  Before entering the child welfare field, Holly worked as an advocate for survivors of Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault.  Her early career began in the HIV Prevention/Education field.

Along the way Holly received her Master of Science in training and development from the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY.  This program provided additional structure and foundation for her passion for mentoring, teaching, and training adults.

In recent years Holly has focused on somatic and mindful practices, completing 500+ hours of training in Mindfulness-Based Yoga, earning a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) credential, along with achieving Qualification Status as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher through the University of California at San Diego's (UCSD) Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute.

In all of these roles and pursuits, Holly has spent a significant part of her career providing workforce and volunteer education and support.  Shortly after moving to Washington state, Holly became aware of the Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence at the UW School of Social Work and has been interested in working for "The Alliance" ever since.  Her dream job finally became a reality in 2021!  In this role she is responsible for designing and delivering training for licensed and unlicensed caregivers of children placed in the foster care system, supporting them with the information and approaches they need to care for those youth.

In her leisure time, Holly spends her time with loved ones, reading, writing, dancing, and learning archery as a mindful practice.
