Overview
This course explores the ethical responsibilities and challenges faced by child welfare professionals. You will examine the core values and ethical standards that guide decision-making, including confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Learning Objectives
KO1: Participants will recognize DCYF expectations for handling and communicating confidential information .
K02: Analyze common ethical dilemmas in child welfare and explore strategies to address dilemmas.
SO1: Participants can identify information that may not be shared with all parties involved in a case and demonstrate appropriate and professional ways to communicate information.
S02: Define and explain the core values of child welfare, including the importance of child safety, family preservation, and cultural competence.
VO1: Participants will be able to describe the importance of establishing and maintaining ethical standards in child welfare.
