Sherry comes to the Alliance from a case management background with the Okanogan County Area Agency on Aging (AAA). She first became involved with child welfare in 2005 when Sherry and her husband Bill became licensed foster parents. They fostered for 12 years and have 2 adopted children. Sherry began working with the Alliance as a foster parent co-trainer before joining the Alliance in 2016 as the Child Welfare Trainer for the Wenatchee area and Okanogan County. Sherry’s desire is to help equip foster parents through education and information. She is especially passionate about supporting caregivers with the specific challenges that come with caregiving in rural areas.

Patty began her experience providing direct services to families through the Division of Developmental Disabilities and then licensing as a foster parent in the early 80’s. In the 20 years licensed as a foster parent, Patty sat on Executive Board for FPAWS (Foster Parent Association of Washington State) and the Advisory Board for the Ombudsman.
Patty began co-training in the early 90’s and became certified as a Grief Recovery Specialist in May of 2000. Prior to joining the Alliance, Patty worked in Special Education Services for the Yakima School District beginning in fall of 2000 and was the Right Response Trainer from March of 2003.

Each part of this 6-part training series must be taken in order, as the information builds upon itself. If you cannot attend all parts in order, please contact a trainer to work out scheduling.
Please note: If Part 1 is open for registration the course is available. You will not be able to register for parts 2-6. This will be done for you.
