Topic Support Group: We Hear You! A CaRES Podcast Club

During this 1.5-hour topic support group, you will listen to a 30-minute, trauma-informed podcast from a variety of child welfare, child development and caregiving experts. After the podcast, you will talk through your questions, aha! moments, and new strategies in a guided conversation with fellow kinship and foster caregivers.  

Join us for one podcast episode or all of them. Each session provides 1.5 hours of training credit.

Learning Objectives

Knowledge:  
1. The participants will be able to name one new term or concept introduced by the selected podcast 2. The participants will be able to identify one trauma-informed strategy based on the selected podcast.  

Skills: 
1. The participants will be able to describe how the identified new term or concept relates to parenting the child(ren) in their home. 2. The participants will be able to demonstrate at least one application of the identified strategy that they can use with the child(ren) in their home.   

Values:  
1. The participants will be able to describe at least one benefit of trauma-informed care for the child(ren) in their home.
