This course will build on the Foundations of Practice modules.  Prior to the simulation, participants will independently prepare for their testimony.  This will be a guided preparation with a focus on the changes in standards for out of home placement at shelter care outlined in the Keeping Families Together Act (House Bill 1227). Participants will prepare for a simulated shelter care hearing based on a case scenario.

These professionals are obligated to report concerns about abuse or neglect, and this eLearning will guide you as mandated reporter through the process of identifying and documenting those concerns. This training breaks the process down into three parts: Recognize, Record and Report. In this training, you’ll consider how to best explain the safety threat that’s keeping a child in out-of-home care and think about how this threat impacts child safety during family time.
